Encaustic paintings

The following encaustic paintings were made after establishing my lithography press in TriBeCa. Instead of the multi-processed and often mercurial art of printmaking, I was using other materials to create a dance between planes of focus. The deliberate yet impromptu mark-making that wax and raw pigment provided was now contained by bold geometries instead of the ‘fast’ marks that created grids in print-making.
