I feed those images through processes I&#8217;ve developed over years, letting the machine lead the iterations I later curate into series. What holds me is the exchange between what I intend and what the machines I build output. What can a source image become when it&#8217;s drawn out through noise?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I draw on the lineages of Abstract, Conceptualism, and the West Coast Light and Space Movement \u2014 not to extend any one of them, but as a catalyst combining their concerns into something that speaks to a moment defined by rapid, disorienting change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The work carries that lineage physically: pixel-saturated images printed on metal plates that appear to float just off the wall, answering Abstract concerns with mark-making and surface-objecthood, and the Light and Space movement&#8217;s concerns with light itself. That concern with light shifts from series to series \u2014 saturated pigment in some, dark and low-contrast in others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I invite you to look for the overlooked magic in these everyday phenomena, transformed by chance and intent into images that are at once strange and familiar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My practice begins each day by photographing whatever catches my curiosity.
